Choosing a container for a solar fountain
Sources checked
Choose a fountain container from the pump, required immersion and spray reach. There is no universal diameter or depth established for every product. A decorative bowl and a buried reservoir are different arrangements with different installation requirements.
Check the operating water level
Allow the pump's required depth and access for cleaning, together with the water displaced by decorative parts. The container must retain enough water during the intended operation and splashing conditions.
Compare the spray pattern with the bowl opening and wind exposure. A visually attractive container can be too small to prevent substantial water loss.
Design supports and access
For a reservoir and lid, verify what is included and the permitted load. Do not infer walkability or structural capacity from an illustration or the presence of a cover.
Check the material, frost instructions, stability, overflow or drainage arrangement and access to the pump. Confirm the exact setup with the fountain documentation rather than selecting the container solely from its external dimensions.
