Arrange PV connection with the distribution company before operating the source. Application, technical conditions, contracts, metering and permission to operate are separate steps. An electricity supplier has a different role from the distributor.
Apply for the actual connection point
Use the procedure of the distributor serving the property: ZSD, SSD or VSD as applicable. Identify the connection, phases, proposed inverter and array, storage and intended export arrangement. Another distributor's example does not establish acceptance at your address.
Panel capacity, inverter power and agreed maximum export are different values. A zero-export setting in an application does not prove unlimited permission to generate in parallel with the grid or to supply surplus.
Complete the agreed sequence
Confirm who handles the application and technical documents, switchboard work, inspection, meter changes and final commissioning steps. Finished panels on the roof do not establish that the remaining connection procedure is complete.
Before later expansion or storage additions, check whether the equipment, settings, export capacity or documents require approval or revision. Keep the final agreements and as-built information with the installation file.
