Selling surplus solar electricity in Slovakia

Sources checked

Exporting electricity does not automatically entitle you to payment. You need the appropriate connection, metering and settlement arrangements. Compare the value of the recognised exported volume after fees, imbalance arrangements and any rules for negative prices.

The distributor and buyer have different roles

Your distribution company handles the technical connection and permitted export. An electricity buyer or supplier handles the commercial settlement. A connection agreement is not, by itself, a purchase agreement for every exported kWh.

Check whether the offer is available to households or only businesses, whether it covers your installation size, and whether the displayed rate applies to all periods or only certain volumes.

Compare the net result

Use your expected export timing and the actual tariff mechanism. Subtract standing charges, service fees and other applicable deductions. A reward limited to electricity matched to another customer's use does not amount to buying every surplus kWh.

Before switching services, confirm contract duration, termination, responsibility for imbalance, settlement dates and treatment of negative prices. Keep commercial export income separate from physical self-consumption and from any credit allocated through sharing.

Choose a reference profile and enter your prices. Compare generation, self-consumption and an illustrative benefit without registration.
