SolarEdge: inverters, monitoring and Designer
Solar guidance for Slovakia. Prices, grants and regulations refer to Slovakia.
Sources checked
SolarEdge offers solar equipment and software. Check the exact devices and their supported combination when comparing a quote. For an existing installation, distinguish mySolarEdge, the web monitoring portal and Designer: they serve different purposes.
Installing an app does not give you access to an existing site or add household consumption measurement. Arrange both the appropriate account permissions and the necessary metering with your installer.
Check the equipment behind the brand name
The SolarEdge residential range includes inverters, power optimizers, batteries, backup products and software. This catalogue does not establish that every device works with every other device or is suitable for your Slovak project.
Request exact inverter, optimizer, module, battery and meter models. Ask the installer to document the supported combination. Check backup operation, distribution approval and grant requirements separately. A brand name does not establish local installer quality. Compare the inverter guide and optimizer guide.
Get access to mySolarEdge and web monitoring
The manufacturer’s first-login instructions describe the installer creating the site and inviting its owner. This US support page establishes the software workflow, not Slovak warranty or contract rights.
Ask for an invitation to your own email address. Use the official mySolarEdge app or the SolarEdge Monitoring web portal, then confirm that your site, data and permissions are correct. Have the installer explain alerts and the service contact. Basic local app functions without an account do not provide full access to site history.
Why you may see production without consumption
SolarEdge’s consumption guidance requires the relevant SolarEdge energy meter. Without it, the manufacturer describes a production-only view. Missing consumption therefore does not by itself show that the panels have failed.
Confirm the installed meter, its measurement boundary and configuration with the installer. PV monitoring does not replace the distributor’s billing meter. See the monitoring guide for generation, self-consumption and export boundaries.
Designer models a system before operation
SolarEdge Designer supports system design, including panel layout, shading, electrical design and energy simulation. A simulation is a model with assumptions, rather than measured generation from your home.
Request the location, orientation, slope, shading, equipment and loss assumptions behind a proposal. For a savings estimate, also check electricity prices, self-consumption, export value and included costs. Software output does not replace a roof assessment or distribution approval.
Agree documentation, access and service responsibilities
Keep the itemised scope, exact models, serial numbers, wiring diagram, manuals, inspection documentation and the warranty terms for the delivered equipment. Confirm who handles communications failures, diagnostics, labour and replacement work.
Take control of your own monitoring access and ask how a change of owner or service company is handled. This guide is not an independent equipment test, service rating or statement of universal compatibility. Use the quote checklist before ordering.
