Roof-mounted solar pool heating: structure and water circuit
Sources checked
Roof-mounted pool heating needs a design for both the roof and the water circuit. A seller allowing roof installation of an absorber does not prove that its fixings suit your covering. Collector area alone cannot establish the final pool temperature.
Check the roof and attachment
Assess wind, snow, drainage, covering compatibility and service access. Confirm the manufacturer's supported mounting method and who takes responsibility for penetrations or roof damage. A wet absorber system adds conditions different from a poolside installation.
Include access and future removal in the price. Do not assume hardware suitable for one roof can be transferred unchanged to another.
Design the pumping and winter arrangement
The route to the roof, height, pipe resistance, permitted pressure and pump operation must be assessed together. Confirm control, draining and the exact winter procedure rather than relying on a generic seasonal label.
Compare useful seasonal heating with the actual pool exposure and cover use. A roof position with good sunlight can still require substantial hydraulic and structural work.
