Solar lanterns: decorative light, portability and charging
Sources checked
Decide whether a solar lantern is for decoration or a particular activity. Portable does not automatically mean USB rechargeable, and hanging does not mean any attachment method is suitable. The panel needs useful sunlight and runtime depends on charge and mode.
Compare the lighting function
Check useful light output, direction, operating modes and any handle or hanging arrangement. A decorative flicker effect serves a different purpose from a reading or task light.
Confirm what is included, the battery type and whether another charging source is actually supported. Do not infer features from the lantern's appearance or portability alone.
Separate evening position from charging position
A pergola can be pleasant for evening use but too shaded for charging throughout the day. If the lantern must be moved to sunlight, include that routine in the practical comparison.
Read environmental limits for use and storage, together with the exact battery-replacement instructions. A full-charge operating time does not guarantee identical service after every cloudy winter day.
