Solar string lights: lit length, panel lead and runtime
Sources checked
Distinguish the illuminated length of a solar string from its lead to the panel. The panel needs useful sunlight even when the lights hang under a pergola. Decorative LEDs do not automatically provide the main illumination needed for using a terrace.
Measure the whole arrangement
Check the number and spacing of lights, illuminated length, unlit lead, mounting points and the panel's supported position. Confirm whether the set can be extended or shortened; a string is not automatically modular.
Use the product's environmental limits for the entire set, including battery, controller and connectors. A weather-resistant lamp does not establish that every part can be submerged.
Compare modes and charging conditions
Steady, flashing and reduced-output modes can have different runtimes. An up-to figure after full charging is not a promise for a shaded position or every winter night.
Plan the support and seasonal storage without stretching cables or relying on improvised joints. If lighting is needed at a fixed time, confirm a suitable charging or alternative supply arrangement for that exact product.
