Solar PV repairs: prepare for diagnosis and service
Sources checked
First distinguish missing monitoring data from an equipment failure. Save the alarm, time of the event and last available readings. Electrical testing, dismantling and roof work require qualified service. This website provides information and does not carry out repairs.
Prepare a useful fault report
Provide exact equipment models, the electrical diagram, inspection records, commissioning details and monitoring access through the agreed secure process. Describe whether the problem is constant or intermittent and what changed before it began.
A service company may not support another installer's equipment. Confirm it will diagnose the actual system before arranging a visit.
Agree the scope and protect the evidence
Ask for the price basis for travel, diagnosis, labour and replacement parts, together with authorisation before additional work. Check warranty responsibility separately from an ordinary paid repair.
Keep away from damaged cables, smoke or unusual heating and use the appropriate emergency response for the situation. Do not change protective settings to restore output. Retain the diagnosis, work record and updated documentation after the repair.
